A number of people have asked me (zero’s a number, right?) why the Blog is called BirdBrain.
Well, first of all, it’s mainly about Birds . . . duh!
Secondly, my name is Brian, and you’d be surprised the number of times that people, myself included, misspell my name as Brain. Very often, they purposely misspell it in a sarcastic manner, as shown in this authentic work email.
Dear Brain,
We have rejected your application for essential office supplies, as you submitted your application on form DT-18-179. DT-18-179 is no longer accepted, and obviously you should now use form ZX-19-tghy. This form has been cunningly hidden on our website.

I toyed with the idea of calling the blog BirdBrian, but I hope you’ll agree that was a really stupid idea.
Anyway, my aim is that this blog will give some helpful tips about birdwatching in Ireland. Please feel free to give feedback!
